Normally printing webpages when you need them can be quite tedious task (i.e. important confirmation emails, receipts, tickets) because it happens so often that you only need to save/print the “interesting” contents or useful information from the webpage but NOT those crappy logos, extra spaces, frames and other junk stuff when printing. If this kind of scenario ever occurred to you, or you happen to print important pieces of information from the webpages then a service called PrintWhatYouLike might make your life a whole lot easier!

Basically it is an online service that you visit and on their site enter the URL of the webpage you want to clean before printing and the moment you hit Start website loads and a sidebar on the left appears with many useful options to clean the current page. Most notable options are changing the font size, hiding the images and background. Current page can also saved as PDF or HTML from the options as well as printed after editing.

However most impressive part is that once you hover over different page elements on the webpage, the current element section under the cursor becomes highlighted and on clicking a toolbar appears that present a number of options in the context of the selection such as Isolate, Widen, Remove and so on. Basically these options allow to remove and tidy up the current webpage.

In fact PrintWhatYouLike is not difficult at all as it might seem. It is quite trivial once you get hang of it. A very important point is that a bookmarklet is also provided on their website that you can drag&drop on the toolbar for example and it will make the workflow even faster. Say you are on a webpage that you want to clean before printing – no problem just hit the bookmarklet and a side bar will appear magically with all the options and you can interactively cleanup the webpage as well.  Provided bookmarklet should work in any modern web browser.
