Use iPhone Emulator for Firefox for Website Testing

Well, I should make it clear right away that it is not exactly an emulator for the iPhone in the same context as many of you might be thinking. Basically, it is the name of a button made for the Custom Buttons extension that I have already introduced to you in some other articles here. It allows to open any website you are currently viewing to be opened in such a way as you are viewing in iPhone. Clicking the button once will toggle the Useragent of the Firefox to iPhone and another click will rollback the change and bring back the normal Firefox browsing view.

So how to install this button? It is a three step process as follows:

Step 1: First install the Custom Buttons extension in case you haven’t done already.

Step 2: Go to this webpage click on the iPhone Emulator button to install it.

Step 3: Once installed there should be this new button available in the buttons list which appears when you click on the Customize from a context menu that appears on the toolbar (see above). Drag&Drop the newly created button anywhere on the button toolbar in the Firefox.

Now you are done and have some fun with the iPhone emulator!
