By default Firefox downloads all the images from the websites you visit including the 3rd party images unless the default setting is changed. But it can be cumbersome if a user wants to enable/disable downloading of images more quickly at say different times. Disabling the downloading of images can be done for a number of reasons by a user. One of the most common uses can be to speed up the webpage loading on slow Internet connection. Sometimes this can make a noticeable difference on slower connection.

QuickImage is Firefox extension that adds an icon to the Firefox status bar that allows to quickly enable or disable the downloading of images from the currently loading website in the Firefox web browser. A very useful choice is to disable the downloading of images from only 3rd websites, while images belonging to the main website will still be loaded. 3rd party images are mostly ads that are useless anyway.
Latest version of the QuickImage also supports Firefox 4.0 and can be download here.
