In addition to the major announcement about the NGP (PSP2) Sony has announced that it will release a gaming framework for the Google Android platform called “PlayStation Suite”. The said framework is supposed to be cross platform and hardware neutral. Initially Sony will start with an emulator for the PSOne games on the platform. Sony will also introduce a gaming store for android platform later this year so that games designed for the PlayStation Suite should run on all Android based smartphones and tablets out there! Sony is also promising that there are some new and exciting contents that are on the way. Sony will also introduce its own licensing and quality assurance scheme called PlayStation certified to attract major game publisher to develop AAA grade games for the PlayStation Suite. Sony’s announced next generation mobile PSP gaming system NGP will be compatible with the games created for the PlayStation Suite. According to Engadget PlayStation Suite will require at least Android 2.3 to run.
