In an interview with Engadget Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak, has revealed that they plan to release white version of iPhone 4 some time soon, may be as early as end of February. White color signifies Apple’s theme for its consumer electronics products and is highly coveted among the general public. In the interview, Steve has also explained the reason for the delay. Apparently, in the DIY kits to make custom white skins, it was noticed that light leaks through the white paint. This makes the snaps taken with its 5 Megapixel camera washed out with over exposure.
However, Steve is optimistic that they have found a fix and plan to start shipping white iPhone 4 soon. In fact, inventory listings from AT&T hint at a release date of Feb 27. It is also interesting to note that Apple has recently released beta 3 of iOS 4.3 to developers and may just decide to wait and ship white iPhone 4 with the final version of 4,3. Well, lets see if Apple can keep up with fans’ anticipation or pushes back the release date even further like last year.
