Well folks here it is – The untethered jailbreak for all iOS 4.2.1 devices. Just for a quick review, the previous jailbreaks for iOS 4.2.1 were tethered, meaning if you restarted your phone or had its power drained all the way, the device needed to be rooted once again.greenpois0n jailbreak | Chronic Dev Team Releases Untethered Jailbreak support for iOS 4.2.1 devices Including iPhone 4 and iPAD

But Chronic Dev Team has now release the Greenpois0n untethered jail break for iOS 4.2.1 which means that you can restart or turn off your iPhone or iPAD without having to worry about re-rooting it. The patch is available for download at the official site. It is offline at this moment, but a mirror is providing files for downloads.

So far, it appears that the patch can be a little tricky to apply and is available only for MAC users. So hopefully Windows and Linux users will get a port soon as well. Here is a list of supported devices:

- iPod Touch 2G/3G/4G
- iPad
- iPhone 3Gs
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 4 Verizon (Not tested)
- AppleTV 2
