If you remember those days when all the fuzz was about the Windows Vista and many new features introduced by it? One of those features was called DreamScene that allowed to use WMV or MPG video files as an animated desktop wallpaper. Cool wasn’t it? Although, it was just an eye candy but still good enough to stair at if you had some time to kill. Somehow, this feature is missing from the Microsoft’s latest and greatest offering – Windows 7. Although, you can create a slide show of pictures and set it as a desktop wallpaper but there is no option to select a video file and use it to animate the desktop background.
If you are one of those guys that miss this feature don’t worry anymore because I am going to tell you about a software called DreamSceneSeven that brings back this interesting feature to Windows 7! After you download the software just follow this very simple process to enable the DreamScene feature in Windows 7:
Step 1: Run the installer file with administrative privileges.
Step 2: Then you have to select the button Install DreamScene.
Step 3: Visit DreamScene gallery and choose an appropriate video clip for the desktop, there is a wide choice – more than hundred of selective scenes. Download your favorite one’s to the system.
Step 4: Now a new item "Set as Desktop Background" will appear in the Video File Context Menu (that appears when you right-click on a downloaded video file in the previous step), with the help of which it can be set as a desktop background.
Here is a video that also illustrates the installation process:
You can download the DreamSceneSeven from the developer’s website for free.
