Honeycomb (Android 3.0) is specially designed for android tablets with extraordinary features making it the best operating system for tablets. While we are waiting for the official release of the android 3.0 tablets, you can hack your Nook color to make it Android Honeycomb 3.0 powerful tablet. In my previous guide I showed how to run Honeycomb on Nook Color using windows operating system. In this guide I will show you how to run Honeycomb 3.0 using Mac.
Requirement
-Nook Color
-4gb or larger capacity SD card
-USB SD card reader
-Virtual Image of HoneyComb for Nook color device
Step 1: Launch terminal window and locate your SD card drive. You can do that by typing the “diskutil list” command in terminal window. Please be cautious in doing so and make sure that you choose the right SD card drive.
Step 2: In this step you need to unmount the SD card drive. To do that you need to type the following command in the terminal window “diskutil unmountDisk /dev/disk#”. In this command replace the # sign with the disk number of the drive. Your terminal window should prompt “Unmount of all volumes on disk was successful”
Step 3: Now you will type the command to write the Virtual Image of HoneyComb for Nook color device on your SD card. Type “dd if=nookhoney04.img of=/dev/rdisk# bs=1m” in the terminal window replacing the # sign with the disk number of the drive. Wait for about 10 minutes and Virtual Image of HoneyComb for Nook Color will be written on your SD card.
Step 4: Safely remove the SD card from the computer. Now, Power off your Nook Color and slide the SD card into the Nook. Turn on your Nook Color and it should load HoneyComb 3.0.
Now you can use Nook Color as Android Honeycomb 3.0 powerful tablet.
