Follow the following steps:

Step 1: Insert Micro SD card into SD card reader and hook it up to the computer.

Step 2: Download Dual Boot Preparation Flash File and Dual Boot Nookie Froyo ROM v.0.6.8 by clicking on the links given above and Copy and files on the SD card.

Step 3: Safely remove the SD card from the computer and insert it into Nook Color SD card slot. Make sure that you turn off your Nook color before you insert the SD card into Nook.

Step 4: Now turn on the power of Nook Color and enter Clockwork Recovery but holding up volume button and power button. Use the following instructions for navigating in the Clockwork recovery menus

-To navigate through the menus use volume key (Up and Down)

-To select use home key

-To go back use power key

Step 5: Next step is to flash the Dual Boot Preparation Flash File which will resize the size of Media partition (This step will not erase the data on media partition but I would recommend making a back up of your contents to be on safer side). It’s also important to know that Dual Boot Preparation File can’t be flashed if the size of data on media partition is more than 3.9GB, please remove or back up some of you data to that its size is not more than 3.9GB.

Step 6: Now you can flash Dual Boot Nookie Froyo ROM v.0.6.8 in the Clockwork Recovery mode.

Step 7: Reboot your Nook device by navigating to the main menu of Clockwork Recovery menu using power key.

Step 8: Hold the Home key while Nook Color is booting and you will enter into Dual Boot. You can now choose if you want to run Froyo 2.2 or Nook Color stock e-reader software.

Congratulations! Now you can run Froyo 2.2 or Stock Nook Color software. If you want to dual boot Honeycomb 3.0 please read my guide How to Dual Boot Android Honeycomb 3.0 on Overclocked Nook Color Using SD Card.

I downloaded all the zip files to my SD card as you suggested. I was about to put the SD card into the Nook Color but I panicked. Because I saw that I needed to install the clockrecovery program on my Nook. Am I correct that I am not making any changes to the software on the Nook? That if I take out the SD card, and reboot the Nook, it will go back to the factory settings? If that is all true, how does the clockrecovery fit into the picture?
