image | Force Any File to Open Within Firefox as Plain Text Using View as TextThere are times when we come across a file on a website that we know is plain text file (it can be understood in text mode) but has some other strange extension that Firefox will not allow to open with in the browser. Instead it offers to open it with an external associated program to view the file. But now no problem! as this kind of problem can be easily resolved by using an extension called View as Text for Firefox. Basically this extension provides a functionality to force any file to open as plain text file in Firefox. It can be triggered through the Firefox context menu.

I think it might come handy for many Firefox users that just want to have a look at a plain text file and don’t want to go in the hassle of launching an external windows application to just have a quick glance.

You can download the View as Text for Firefox here.
