images | How to Do Quick Battery Calibration on Rooted Android Phones to Fix Battery Draining Issues ?As you might know that we have already written quite a bit about the Android device’s battery life and related tips on how to improve it. One of the issues that is being faced recently by many Android power users that are doing a lot of rooting stuff and flashing custom ROMs on their Android devices is the rapid battery draining without any apparent reason. Actually many times it happens when a new ROM is flashed when the battery of the device is not 100% charged. If you are experiencing similar battery draining issues on the Android then they might very well be related to this. This issue can be fixed if the battery stats.bin system file is removed, as it will force the OS to generate the new file and fix any fake information already present from a previous ROM. Earlier there have been some manual and cumbersome fixes available on the Internet to do this apparently simple task.

But now courtesy of the marosige an XDA forums member a new tool is available that automates the whole process. Basically this tool removes the battery stats.bin system file. The OS then generates a new clean battery stats file afterwards removing any fake information from the previous ROM in the process. It’s also recommended by the developer to let the phone fully discharge after calibration, then charge to 100% without break to get the best results. Note that the application shows your actual battery status, and only allows you to start the calibration (i.e. removes the file) when it’s fully charged.

You can download the application from the official thread at the XDA forums. Don’t forget that you will need a rooted Android device! You can follow one of our earlier guides for your respective device to do so.
