Browser Changer 642x350 | How to Change the Default Safari Browser on iOS Devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) [Tip]?

If you are a proud owner of an iOS based device such as iPhone or an iPad etc. then for sure you are aware that built-in Apple Safari is the default browser and get launched whenever a link is get clicked from the email or other applications. This is fine as a default behavior, but unfortunately Apple didn’t thought about providing a setting to change the default browser application. But if you happen to have a jailbroken iPhone or other iOS device that is free of Apple’s evil “jail”, you can use a free Cydia tweak called Browser Changer to change the default browser that gets launched incase you have some other preferred browser installed in the iOS such as Skyfire, Droid Browser or another internet browser of your liking. In addition, this tweak also provides the option to be applied to the Google maps and YouTube video links.

In case you are not already jailbroken, here are guides of untethered jailbreaking the iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone 3GS/4, iPad 1 and iPod touch using the PwnageTool 4.3 (on Mac) or Sn0wbreeze 2.5 (on Windows). In case you are not concerned about preserving the baseband of your phone then follow this simpler guide on untethered jailbreaking the iOS 4.3.1 based iDevices using RedSn0w 0.9.6.

This tweak is currently available through the ModMyi repository for free.
