Finally the wait is over folks! iOS 4.3.2 is available for quite some time now. Earlier we had Redsn0w 0.9.6RC9 available that can jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 untethered on all iDevices except iPad 2. Untethered jailbreaking is achieved by using the exploit provided by the Stefan Esser that we reported some time ago. Good news as we reported before is that surprisingly Apple has NOT patched the untethered exploit in the latest iOS 4.3.2! All of us were waiting for a an official release from iPhone Dev Team for the untethered JB tool such as RedSn0w. So, they didn’t disappoint as moments ago iPhone Dev team has released the RedSn0w 0.96 RC13 that allows to do the untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.2 for the all the supported devices!!
Update: Redsn0w 0.96 RC14 is now available that includes better support for iPhone 4. So the download links are updated for RC14 release. Jailbreaking procedure is exactly same as posted here.
Note: Please stay away from this method if your phone is dependent on a carrier unlock! Instead wait for the new official PwnageTool / Sn0wbreeze tool release that will allow to do do untethered jailbreak for the iOS 4.3.2 iDevices while preserving your baseband. Actually, this is method is useful only if you are NOT dependent on a carrier unlock for both Mac and Windows users.
Now follow these instructions:
Step 1: Download the Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC13 and iOS 4.3.2 stock FW and save both of them to the desktop. Extract the Redsn0w application in a folder on the desktop.
Step 2: Execute RedSn0w application from there that was extracted earlier.
Step 3: Once RedSn0w appears click the Browse button. Then browse the iOS 4.3.2 stock FW that downloaded in Step 1 and open it (as shown in the illustration below).
Notice this popup that appears for the users that are using the iPhone 3GS. As instructed in the picture below you can find out the model of the iPhone 3GS easily.
Step 4: Once the firmware has been verified click the Next button to continue.
Step 5: RedSn0w will now prepare the jailbreak data.
Step 6: From this window you can select the jailbreak options you would like.
- Make sure Cydia is selected.
- Notice that RedSn0w can Enable multitasking (iPhone 3G only, no display of this option on 3GS needed!). If you do not need multitasking we would recommend deselecting it as it makes your iPhone 3G run very slow.
Don’t forget to check Install iPad Baseband to update your baseband to the 06.15 iPad version for unlock (in case you want to unlock your iPhone 3GS later on). Click Yes when prompted to confirm. Now click the Next button to continue
Step 7: Now plug your iPhone into the computer and make sure its OFF then click the Next button.
Step 8: RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to get into DFU mode. Hold down both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds. Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button until RedSn0w detects the device.
Step 9: RedSn0w will then do it’s processing and you will be notified when RedSn0w it is done. Click the Finish button. When your iPhone finishes rebooting it will be jailbroken with Cydia on the SpringBoard!
Enjoy! now you have a fully untethered jailbroken iDevice on iOS 4.3.2 (optionally) with the baseband upgraded to 16.5.00!,
Now you can continue this step-by-step guide on how to unlock your iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 using Ultrasn0w Fixer For 4.3.2 that we published earlier today.
If you have problems with RedSn0w on Windows Vista or Windows 7. Right click the executable and set it to run as administrator in Windows XP compatibility mode.
