Shoutem has posted a very nice infographic that captures the current and future state of the Apps in the mobile world, as well as the current and future major players (iOS, Android ??) in the market in terms of the raw numbers. Some of the stats they highlight are really interesting for example by 2013, 21 billion applications will be download (currently this count is at 5 billion according to the provided info)! Top 3 smartphone platforms in term of market share are Google, RIM and Apple in this order. Angry Birds and Google Maps are the highest rated applications.
