externalipodcontrols | Use Volume Keys to Skip Music to Next/Previous Song on iPhone via External iPod Controls [Cydia Tweak]Cydia – a repository of all jailbreak applications never cease to amaze use. Everyday, there is something new to discover. Now this nice little Cydia tweak called External iPod Controls looks quite useful to me. This makes some clever use of the physical volume buttons on the iPhone or iPod to allow skipping to the next/previous song when music is playing, instead of the usual use of volume control using these buttons. It should work on any iPod or iPhone with external volume buttons.

Note that when there is not any music playing volume buttons behave normally as expected. Even when music is playing and you want to use these buttons to change the volume, you can do so! Just press and hold the buttons for a predetermined time (can be set in settings) and they will start to change the volume. So, you get the best of both worlds! There is no icon in the SpringBoard after the installation, but you can go the settings.app to make the customizations.
