WeeFacebook: A Facebook Widget For the New iOS 5 Notification Centre Now Available!

We have already covered a lot of widgets for the new iOS 5 Notification Center in the last couple of days namely the UISettings,  WeeTwitter, WidgetTask, MusicCenter, SpringPrefs, RSSWidget to name a few. Now there is another one that joins the party called WeeFacebook. As its name implies is a mobile Facebook accessible right from with in the iOS 5 Notification Centre! It should be good complimentary widget to the WeeTwitter you know. It has been developed by a developer named Manuel Gebele.

I am not completely sure yet about the functionality details of the WeeFacebook or how much of the things are functioning right now, because it has been released just today. But judging from the picture that is provided by the developer it seems to include all major GUI elements from mobile Facebook directly from iOS 5 Notification Centre.

WeeFacebook is available right now for download as a deb file from here.

Here are the instructions as provided by the developer to install it on your iOS 5 based jailbroken iDevice:

1. Copy the .deb file to /var/mobile on your iPhone (on OS X you could use Cyberduck (ssh))

2. ssh root@$YOUR_IP

3. cd /var/mobile

4. dpkg -i com.manuelgebele.weefacebook_1.0.1-1_iphoneos-arm.deb

5. respring

WeeFacebook should now appear in the Notification Center.

Instructions are pretty straight forward for the experienced users, but if you are a new user and not comfortable with the SSH stuff, I will recommend to have a look at the following article on how to install the deb file easily in few click to your iDevice!

Please note that you must have jailbroken iDevice on new iOS 5 beta for this tweak to work! Follow any of the following guides to do so:
