Some weeks it was reported that Comex author of the JailbreakMe is working on a new version of the application to do the untethered jailbreak for the iPad 2. Since then we didn’t heard anything about that. But now it seems that one of the internal beta testers of the JailbreakMe 3.0 has leaked an official version of the application! For this to work you don’t need to be connected to the computer (as usual for the JailbreakMe). You only need an internet connection. Here is how to get it working on your iPad 2:
Note: Rooting, Jailbreaking or customizing your device can be risky, and you may end-up bricking your device! Follow the instructions posted here at your own responsibility as Inspired Geek will not be responsible for any damage to your device.
Furthermore, note that this is an unofficial leaked version of the what appears to be JailbreakMe 3.0 and may be NOT work as intended. Use it at your own risk. We will recommend for an official release of the application from Comex instead.
Step 1: First launch the Safari on your device and navigate to the URL as shown in the video embedded below.
Step 2: Once you do that Safari will close and that is normal. Now a Cydia icon will be visible on your Home Screen, with a progress bar.
Step 3: Once Cydia icon disappear, reboot your device. After the reboot the device may take a bit longer than usual to come to the OS, but once it does it will be jailbroken!
