CyanLogo | Download CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 (Android 2.3.4): Improved Performance & Video Chat in Google TalkCyanogenMod or CM as called by many is the THE most popular custom ROM for many of the Android phones out there. One of the main reasons for its popularity is the number of tweaks and level of customizability that it provides over the stock Android OS. Many months back CyanogenMod 7 was released and that was a major release bringing many new features and performance improvements. Now the CM team has released the CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1 for all the supported Android devices. Note that this new version is based on the Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread). One of highlights of the new CyanogenMod 7.1 is the support for extra devices that it includes. Now it supports additionally following devices: Galaxy S, Captivate, and Vibrant), the LG Optimus 2X (p990) /T-Mobile G2x (p999), HTC Incredible S (vivo), and Motorola CLIQ/CLIQ XT.

This is a Release Candidate, meaning that it is still work in progress, but should be stable enough for day to day use. Also note that your device needs to be Rooted to flash these custom roms. Free version of ROM Manager can be used to do that once you have rooted your phone. You can also manually download it from mirror network if you prefer.
