Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII) is now officially Samsung’s best selling mobile device in history, and this is for a reason, because its one of the most well balanced and powerful Android (or iOS) based phone that can be bought in the market today. Yes, we know that iPhone 5 release is right around the corner and may be able to surpass the quality bar set by Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII). However, its goanna take a lot of effort from Apple to build something that can steal the the thunder and title of the best smartphone in the world from Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII).

As you can see the design for Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII) looks quite similar to the current generation Galaxy S2. Even the the dimensions and thickness. Having said that there are indeed some important differences that can be noticed if we look carefully. For example, device has a thin bezel on the left and right edges – supposedly to make room for a larger 4.5 inch screen. Also, Samsung logo on the back has been moved a bit downwards. More importantly however, Home, Menu and Back physical buttons on the front are removed probably to pave the way for the virtual buttons in the software. Camera still seems to be the 8 MP variety from the Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII).

In terms of the specs, it is expected to support a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen similar to the Samsung Infuse 4G.  Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII) will come preloaded with the Google upcoming Android 2.4/4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. As for the CPU, we expect that this beast will be powered by a potent quad-core processor (most probably NVidia’s Kal-El). However, there are reports that new devices based on the NVidia’s Kal-El has been delayed to the next year due to some issues. So, rest be assured that its very unlikely that we will see anything as powerful as Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII) before the next year.

Please note that these specifications are based on rumors, and may very well be different from the ones that are mentioned here. Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII) will most likely be released early next year to break the momentum built by the upcoming iPhone 5.
