We have mentioned about the TouchDroid project in the past, which is all about a team of dedicated developers that focused on bringing the more value to the well known and bargain looking HP Touchpad tablet by porting the Android OS to the platform. Last week, we reported about an interesting video showing the CyanogenMod 7 (Android 2.3) running on the HP Touchpad! Although, that was still in very alpha stage and still is. Now the TouchDroid team has come up with another interesting video to ignite our interest showing the dual-booting of Android 2.3.5 and WebOS on the HP Touchpad! This will be particularly useful for the HP Touchpad users who want to keep up the stock WebOS, but still want to enjoy the enormous features provided by the Android. So, users will not have to compromise on the WebOS to get the Android up and running on their HP Touchpad tablet. Currently, this dual-boot functionality requires a connection of the tablet to the PC, but of course this limitation will vanish in the future.
We are really keeping up an eye on this ambitious project. Any thoughts on the current development?
This an excerpt from the past of what they posted on the forum:
Our ultimate vision is to create a *multiboot* solution where the end user will be able to boot into WebOS, Cyanogenmod, and/or other OSes. This appears to be very possible, and we have discussed several potential implementations with our new friends in the WebOS development community to make it easy for an end-user to set up.
So, you can see that it seems they are progressing really well to their ultimate vision as shown by the following video posted by the TouchDroid team on YouTube:
