Netflix is one of the most popular on-demand internet based streaming media distribution companies in US with services in Canada as well. Netflix has recently surpassed 20 million customers! which indeed speaks volumes for the popularity of their service. They will now also be expanding in to the European market starting from 2012 according to their current plans.

Netflix application for the Android devices has been available for quite some time. But unfortunately in the start application was supported on a very narrow set of devices. Device support continued to expand but that was not enough. It resulted in forcing the avid users of the Netflix service to install the modified Netflix application apk file, which is not very difficult but was still kind of a headache. Now the company has finally released an updated version of their official application that supports all the Android devices with Android 2.2 or 2.3 (Froyo or Gingerbread) installed. In other words, it covers almost 80% of the Android users out there.
