Yesterday, we told you that Samsung has released a teaser video of the upcoming Nexus Prime. Well, not explicitly mentioning the Nexus Prime but there was indeed a clear hint in the end of the video at the new Google branded Android phone. According to BGR they have the final specs of the device ahead of the announcement at the CITA on October 11th! First of all according to the report the device will be indeed called Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be free of any TouchWiz or similar kind of bloat ware and will be a pure Google experience or can I say the Ice Cream 4 Sandwich (Android 4.0) experience! Report also mentions that device will be Verizon exclusive! Although that may be for some limited amount of time only.
According to the report here are the specs of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus that we can expect in the announcement that is imminent in a number of days:
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
- 9mm thin
- 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
- TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz
- 1GB of RAM
- 32GB of built-in storage
- 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
- 1080p HD video capture support
- LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
- Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
- 1,750 mAh battery
Samsung Galaxy Nexus seems tasty right? In particular the 720p display based on the Super AMOLED HD will be the killer feature of the device. However, I have to say that I am a bit shocked to see that according to this leak the device will include a 5 megapixel camera only! Actually, this is different from what we expected from this device. Lets hope that at least piece of information don’t turn out to be true. You may also notice that Samsung Galaxy Nexus will support the NFC feature. All other specs are more or less what we expected earlier based on the rumors.
Earlier we also told you that we might see this time around the inclusion of the soft buttons instead of usual hardware buttons on the device. Although some people might complain as this will likely take away some screen real estate. But first we have to see the actual implementation to make any definite conclusion on this.
So what are your thoughts about the upcoming Samsung Nexus Prime? Are you excited about the new release? If you think it will be able to put a dent in the release numbers of the newly released iPhone 4S? Let us know in the comments section!
Please note that these are NOT the actual specs published by the Google or Samsung. We can only be completely sure when they word will come directly from horse’s mouth! For that we will have to hold-on a few more days.
