Siri is probably one of the most impressive feature of the iPhone 4S that is significant step up from the voice activated actions we found in the earlier iOS 4.x versions. Early iPhone 4S reviews suggest that Siri is not just a gimmick, but its really functional and can come really handy in some cases when you don’t want to use your hands to do the action on your iPhone 4S. So no doubt that Siri is getting the rave reviews. There are strong rumors pointing to the fact the Google might also introduce more advanced voice activated features in the up coming Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) that will be announced later this month. On the other hand, a big disappointment for many users was that Apple decided to make the Siri an exclusive feature to iPhone 4S. So no luck for the loyal iPhone 4/3GS users yet, unless the jailbreaking community can step up with some way to activate/install it on the previous generation iPhone models. But for that we will have to wait and see.
Now we have learned that at least some of the features of the Siri in iPhone 4S might be limited to US. In particular for the Map , traffic and other services that are location based. So for the users outside the US will have to wait till the next year to get their hands on the enhanced Siri version to get the complete feature set as for the US based users. Also, keep in mind that for now Siri is shipping with only a small set of languages support but Apple has promised the support for the additional languages soon. Also Siri uses the Yelp which doesn’t support location based services yet outside US and hence so is the case for Siri.
