Multitasking Gestures in iOS 5 | How to Enable Multitasking Gestures & Video Mirroring on iPad 1 in iOS 5 Without Jailbreak [Tip]As you know that Apple has for some reason disabled the very useful Multitasking gestures in newly released iOS 5 for the iPad 1. For now, they are only available for the iPad 2 users who can access it without problem. It was the case right from the start when Apple started to push out the iOS 5 betas for the developers. At that time, we reported a way to turn them back on the iPad 1 with the iOS 5 installed and jailbroken. But more recently, after the release of the iOS 5 we reported that still multitasking gestures doesn’t work for the iPad 1 users and apparently the method that we reported earlier didn’t work either.

Nevertheless no need to worry as it has become possible again to turn on the multitasking gestures on the iPad 1 with the iOS 5 installed and best of all this method don’t require any jailbreak! Another feature in the typical “Apple Fashion” that has been blocked from iOS 5 for the iPad 2 users is the Airplay mirroring that can come very handy for some iDevice users. Now a similar method to the Airplay Mirroring called video Mirroring can also be enabled on the iPad 1 with the same procedure that we will mention below.

Step 1) First download the modified version of the Redsn0w that has been designed specifically to enable multitasking gestures and video mirroring on the iPad 1.

Step 2) Launch the Redsn0w application and put your device in DFU mode as instructed by the application. It will now do its magic. Make sure that you unchecked the “Install Cydia” but instead checked the “Enable Multitasking Gestures”. It might take a few minute as your iPad 1 might restart a couple of times as well in the process.

Step 3) Finally, after the procedure is complete just go to the Settings->General and then enable the newly visible multitasking gesture option.

Step 4) Enjoy Multitasking gestures on your iPad 1 as well as video mirroring capability!
