iPhone 4S 3 | Siri Hacked: Now Running on iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4 in iOS 5Right after the introduction of fancy new Siri feature on the iPhone 4S developers are hard at work to bring this exciting personal virtual assistant to the other iOS users such as iPhone 4, iPad 2. Earlier developers were only able to port the GUI but for the actual voice recognition commands Siri had to connect to the Apple servers but couldn’t do so because of the authentication issues. Also it was speculated that Siri might be using the specific hardware acceleration features of the Apple A5 chip in the iPhone 4S. But this didn’t not turnout to be true for us fortunately. We also reported last week that developers are also planning to draw their attention of the Siri port for the iPhone 3GS and other older iOS devices once they complete the Siri porting job for the iPhone 4, iPad 2 – current generation iOS 5 devices.

Now comes another exciting news today that developers have successfully managed to complete hack the Siri to run on the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. This includes the successful authentication with the Apple servers as well! In other words, Siri now on iPhone 4 behaves the same way as on the iPhone 4S and with the same fluid  speed, which is quite an achievement. As for the Siri port on the iPod Touch 4G port is again an exact replica, however since the microphone on the iPod Touch 4G is not as good so users may have to speak more loudly and clearly to make Siri to understand anything. This is really an exciting news for the older iDevice users that want to use it in iOS 5.

Please see the embed video below to see the amazing demo of Siri running in all its glory on iPod Touch 4G:

Unfortunately there is still no release date for the Siri port for the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G yet. Stay tuned as we will keep you posted on the new development…
