We have covered a number of tidbits about the highly anticipated upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III (S3) including the support for a high-end camera up to 12 mega pixel, 2GB of RAM, 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display and a quad-core CPU probably based on Tegra 3 SoC. Till now all the speculations that we know are purely based on rumors and anticipation and may end up quite different in the end. However, there is not any harm to keep a tap on the juicy new rumors coming out with the time-passage about this successor of the highly successful Samsung Galaxy S2 which is widely regarded as the most successful Android out there these days.
Now the recent piece of information focuses on the possible CPU inside the Samsung Galaxy S III (S3). Android and Me is reporting that Samsung Galaxy S III (S3) might include Exynos 4412 CPU which will be based on 32nm quad-core design with ARM Cortex-A9 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. Another major improvement is excepted in the form of a substantially upgraded GPU. Just to mention current Samsung Galaxy SII includes a ARM Mali-400 GPU which shows the best graphical performance among all the current lineup of smartphones. However, it has been recently outdone by Apple iPhone 4S A5 chip that shows even better performance in a number of graphical benchmarks. Samsung Galaxy S III (S3) with Exynos 4412 is expected to include Mali-T604 GPU which can be configured with up to 4 cores and is based on the current estimates can provide up to 5X the performance of the current generation ARM Mali-400 GPU integrated in Samsung Galaxy SII.
We can expect Samsung to release official information about the Samsung Galaxy SIII next year probably in the end of February at Mobile World Congress. One thing is for sure that if this fact about the use of Exynos 4412 in Samsung Galaxy SIII (S3) turns out to be true than it will be the Android device to beat in 2012.
