Normally download (Opening) dialog in Firefox doesn’t show the file size. This is true even in the latest Firefox 4.0. I think it can be really convenient to know that file size that you are going to download before hand in many circumstances particularly if you are on a slow Internet connection then you might want to know the size before downloading.
